Tagged: Talk about a fall from grace. Legg Mason Value, managed by the once-revered Bill Miller, has performed so poorly the past two and a half years that Morningstar now gives the fund one star, our lowest rating. But should it really come as a surprise that Miller, who was once the talk of the investing world because he beat the stock market 15 consecutive calendar years, has hit a rough patch? No. The streak merely masked Miller's bold approach to stock picking, a strategy that was sure to run out of steam at some point.

Judging by the precipitous drop of all the world's major stock indices last week, if you are in the business of selling shares, watch out. Warren's coming.

Tagged: A great, but not surprising, piece of information was released today regarding Western Sizzlin’: share buyback authorization.
The 8-k filed today by the company tells us that Western Sizzlin’ has authorized Biglari to buy back up to 500,000 shares. Doesn’t sound like much, until you consider that the company only has a total of 2,700,000 shares outstanding.
